Since 2010 and his debut as choreographer, Sylvain Huc has used the body as an infinite playing field.
In his new show, Sujets, which will be presented at the prestigious Montpellier Danse festival, Huc approaches the scene as a ritual that is constantly renewed; the body is thrown in the middle of the stage, sometimes brutal, sometimes delicate.
For Sylvain Huc, teaching and choreography are more than elements to transmit. It is about sharing visceral experiences around the body. In his dance company there isn’t a clear distinction between mediation with the public and creation. His creations have a clear pedagogical potential given the clarity of his choreographic methodology and writing.
Sylvain Huc is an artist associated with Hiroshima. In recent years he has presented two pieces (Chaperon Rouge and Boys don’t cry) in our venue and has directed a workshop with 8 dancers from Barcelona and 8 dancers from Toulouse. All his proposals have been strongly applauded.
