Aina is a Catalan interpreter and choreographer based in Paris. She returns to Hiroshima this year as an associate artist, with her most recent creation, as she defines it, “a group portrait”. In this piece she explores and questions the symbolic and ephemeral spaces that the communities invent to meet and celebrate. Le jour de la bête is inspired by the spatial configurations, gestures and movements of popular celebrations in Catalonia, staging the birth of a group of individuals and the construction of a festive ritual as cathartic and creative space.
