DANCE -50′- text

The performance is a tribute to ‘Il canto sospeso’ of Luigi Nono, coinciding with the 60th anniversary since its premiere in Cologne. An opera widely recognized as one of the most important works of art of the twentieth century.

‘Il gesto sospeso’ is a memorial to the victims of fascism, and the text of ‘Il canto sospeso’ is part of some letters that victims of European resistance and the concentration camps wrote just before being shot.

The imminence of the gesture and the permanence of motion and suspended ajar, seeking a voice and perhaps recognize, broken, cut, abandoned to listening, and with it the song transcends the body and becomes gesture, full of sound and voices transmitter at the time of the memory of  lost voices.
