“It is no exaggeration to say that these kind of experiences will determine the future of the theatre. (…) In this liberating performance everything falls into place.”
Alexander Hiskemuller, Trouw

It is pertinent to mention that Arno Schuitemaker is an aeronautical engineer, so rational as to propose a work of perfect abstraction, purely mathematic. With his gaze fixed on the sky, and through the equations of a repetitive movement, he manages to move all kinds of audiences. Arno’s work is convincing, magical and intense. Using a continuous and perpetual movement, his works, based on perception, reflect love, loneliness and waiting. In collaboration with various performers, composers and lighting designers, his performances become real immersive encounters. In 2018 Hiroshima presented his work for the first time in Barcelona.

This season he returns with his latest creation, using the same stylistic strategies but with completely different results, it provokes a close and captivated observation. As if immersed in the atmosphere of a nightclub, the three performers give themselves over to the crescendo of choreography. Fresh and profoundly modern, this is an essential piece of the season.

Arno Schuitemaker has been named by Tanz magazine as “one of the most promising choreographers” in their 2017 yearbook; he was mentioned by Dance Europe as “one of the leading dancers in the Netherlands”. He is the winner of the Dioraphte Encouragement Award and the 2nd Jury Prize at [re]connaissance 2016. He was also selected for Aerowaves’ Artist Priority List in 2013.)
