MUSIC – VENEZUELA – 90– text

This is the voyage of an emigrant and the accidents and difficulties he encounters on his way to the new land, just to learn that every place is the same every place is a non-place A conceptual album set to take the listener through a contextual experience, providing a sublevel of Foleys, which by themselves guide the complete voyage. The live presentation is treated as an experience, one where the context serves as main guide. Giving the audience a chance to be involved in it, not just watching from outside, accompanied by various visual modern technologies.

This project that begins in 2010 as a solo proposal from Rafael Giner, Venezuelan musician and producer that, after releasing one EP with Tulio Chuecos in Veneuela on 2009, decides to move and live in Barcelona. In 2011 he puts together a trio with one drummer and one visual artist (Tomás Mena from Joystick and Julio Urbina from RGB Corp). The trio releases two Ep´s, Live Session (2011) and Transfer (2013). One year later, in 2014, the production of a new album starts, which after 2 years of development ends up with the formation of a new band, a quintet, where several musicians from different projects come together, Leo Aldrey from NOKO
WOI, Juan Berbín from SEWARD, Bernardo Rísquez from DIFFERENT FOUNTAINS and Ezequiel Serrano from CABEZON KEY..

The show is based on the 4 acts, so people can interact with what they will see, for example they will be able to choose what order they want the storyline to be played before the show, giving a feeling of uniqueness to every presentation. The design is based on the harmony and melody structure of the album and its graphic. It is divided in 4 modular panels which can be disassembled every night and adapted to any space.
The panels will show: visual mapping, use of the venue’s lights, interactive movement, text information.

What happens when your entire surrounding context converges into a static state of numbness? When all light, sound, air and smell at sight becomes a contaminated substance. When substance as a reality turns to a ravishing uncontrollable world. When substance as a thought no longer can be studied. When life is crippled, and no more substance can be found. An escape route must be created; a new direction must be taken. Out, away, up in the air, where heroes are, misery must be left aside and a dream must be followed. A new place must be found, where substance is thick and light, slow and large, a space where peace can´t be broken. This is the voyage of an emigrant and the accidents and difficulties he encounters on his way to the new land, just to learn that every place is the same every place is a non-place From the car to the train, the train to the plane, the plane to the sea, the sea to the boat, the boat to the coast, the coast to the empty city. Movement, speed, height, depth. Scenes, melodies, images, sensations, textures, just to respond ¿who are we when we travel? Question that runs across the album from start to finish, in a modular audiovisual narration where issues like loneliness, fear and estrangement are explored during a flight across two continents. A conceptual album set to take the listener through a contextual experience, providing a sublevel of Foleys, which by themselves guide the complete voyage. a “Soundtrack” album.
