Double program!

ABSOLUT PREMIERE
PART OF CICLO ORO
THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF IBERESCENA

Aina Alegre, Hiroshima’s associated artist, returns for the second time this year in collaboration with Karin Elmore, director of the International Festival Encuentros Indisciplinados in the city of Lima. This encounter between Alegre and Elmore arises from common interests in their works in the anthropological aspect of movement in collective celebration rituals. While Estudi 1 takes as its starting point the ritual gesture of pecking on the ground, Q’ucchú presents a dance re-reading of the chromatic and kinetic energy in Andean folkloric festivities. This double programme involves a dialogue between two cultures and folkloric traditions, between two ways of ritualising and choreographing the collective. More than that, however, it displays the results of an artistic exchange between two women with a singular trajectory, both strongly committed to dance and its cultural legacy. A special night of celebration in Hiroshima’s season.
