DANCE DANCE DANCE is a performative experiment in which the languages of dance and cinema interact. The piece establishes a counterpoint between the representations of the body in films, where dance is associated with illusion and evasion of reality, and the present and concrete body of the performers as a live archive, as both container and prey of such representations.

Magdalena Leite is a choreographer, dancer and teacher. Aníbal Conde is a visual artist and performer. They work together in the intersection of the body and projected image. They consider their art as appropriationist and are inspired by Kenneth Goldsmith and dj’s. They have performed at the Judson Church in New York; the Akbank Sanat in Istanbul, The Contemporary Art Museum MUAC in Mexico and the Teatro Pradillo in Madrid.

They are resident artists at La Casa Encendida and CA2M in Madrid with their project LOS40. They made DANCE DANCE DANCE, with more than 50 exhibitions and VIDEOCLIP, started in 2014 with Iberescena’s support and now with FONCA´s in Mexico. Their work starts with questions that seek to be answered on stage.

DANCE DANCE DANCE has been performed 52 times and has been seen by more than 3000 people. It has been performed in 8 international festivals like Judson Church Mondays (Nueva York, EEUU), Festival La Nao (Acapulco, México), Onésimo González (Guadalajara, México), Arqueologías del Futuro (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Un Desierto para la Danza (Hermosillo, México), FIDCU (Montevideo, Uruguay), ENARTES 2016 (Ciudad de México, México) y Festival Internacional 4×4 (Chiapas, México).
